Dr. Guillermo Chapa is a graduate of the Medical, University in Monterrey Mexico. He dis his social service as Medical Intern in the Presidential General Staff, assigned to Los Pinos, in Mexico City. He completed his specialty in Ophthalmology at the Hospital San Jose-Tec de Monterrey and is certified by the Mexican Council of Ophthalmology, as a maximum regulator of the profession in the country.

Furthermore, in 1997, was invited to participate in the academic program of the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio for the sub specialty of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, where he had the opportunity to meet and work with Marshall Parks, who is considered the father Pediatric Ophthalmology of the World. He has served as head of the Department of Health Education of the State of Nuevo Leon in Mexico, where he was responsible for training and the performance of all physicians in the state who attended his training to be specialists. He was also honored by the Governor of the State in 2008 as Coordinator of the Citizen Council of Health of Nuevo Leon. 

Currently he holds a modern state-of-the-art private practice, located in the modern Plaza 401, Calzada del Valle, Garza Garcia, and since 2006 has been a Professor of the Medical School “Ignacio A. Santos” Monterrey Tech where he teaches several subjects to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.He is also a loyal volunteer surgeon in many medical campaigns in rural communities such as Chiapas and Quintana Roo, where he goes annually to perform strabismus surgeries to needy children. He also continuously participates in courses in national and international presentations in the field upgrade.

His professional interests include eliminating the annoying dependence of glasses and bifocals for myopia both causing eyestrain, by using the new modern technique Presbylasiklaser and Interlace  ,which does not use knives for cutting. He also performes suture less cataract surgeries in adults. His area of expertise also covers school REVISIONS for minors and students at their entire range of conditions including strabismus and lazy eye, as well as congenital cataracts.
